Ending 2022 with a cheerful blog

Ending 2022  With A Cheerful blog Hi my lovely readers, hope you are well.  As it's coming up to the end of the year, I thought I'd write a blog about this year and just end it in a positive way, ready to start a fresh page in the New Year. What a great year 2022 has been. I actually can't believe this will be my 10th blog for this year! This was one of my goals this year and I am happy that I stuck to it and I have achieved this.  I love to write and enjoy bringing people together with my writing.  Thank you to everyone who has read my blog, followed along on here and on social media and just supported me on whatever I post!  I really hope 2022 has been a great year for you, hope you achieved your goals and ambitions, even if some of it didn't feel as great as you hoped. It doesn't matter, you gave it a good go and tried- don't give up, this is your chance now to have another go at whatever you p...

World Cerebral Palsy Day- 6th October!

Image
Hey my lovely readers, hope you are well. On the 6th October, it is World Cerebral Palsy Day, the day is to celebrate people who has Cerebral Palsy and try to help the world be a more diverse and accessible place to live in.  I think World Cerebral Palsy Day is a great way for people to learn and understand Cerebral Palsy as it is spreading awareness and positivity. Also it can connect more people with Cerebral Palsy together and this is an amazing opportunity to share their stories about Cerebral Palsy.   I love having Cerebral Palsy as its apart of me and I know I sometimes think about the 'what ifs', but I believe my Cerebral Palsy has helped me  make the decisions that I have made me who I am today. I have achieved so much more than I was expected to and I am proud that I can be quite independent despite my disability. My Cerebral Palsy is a part of me but it doesn't define who I am or what I d...

What I Do To Stay Inspired

Image
Hey my lovely readers, hope you are well. I thought I'd do a blog about what inspires me and what keeps me working towards my goals. I think we all need things to be inspired of and these things should be able to keep us positive and motivated.  Lots of things keeps me feeling inspired, family, friends, positive people, motivational books or a great message shared on social media. I love surrounding myself with inspiration and great things, when I am struggling with something difficult or just having a hard day, I will look out for these things. However they keep me going however my day is going, being inspired by something doesn't need to happen on a low day, everyday we should feel inspired by something to keep us going forward and achieving our goals and aspirations.    Staying inspired means to be excited and intrigued in the subject or thing. To be inspired I need to be fully committed to that particular thing that makes me feel excited. For example, I need to feel e...

Why I Started blogging

Why I Started Blogging              Hey my lovely readers, hope you are well. I thought I'd do this blog on the reasons why I started blogging and why I love writing so much. I started 'Reach For The Stars With Abbie' in 2015 but I had a smaller blog before that so I'd say I have been blogging for about 7 years. In that time I have wrote about so many different topics and important moments in my life. I have loved writing each and every one of them! When I started blogging, I think I wanted to explain the different things that went on in my life as a teenager with a disability. I loved explaining my disability and I wanted to blog about subjects around that. Then I was able to come up with more interesting subjects when I knew what the main purpose was for my blo...

Starting An Accessible Crossfit

Starting An Accessible CrossFit Class Hey my lovely readers, hope you are well. Recently, I have started an accessible CrossFit class once a week called Alternative Movement. I absolutely love it! It is an adaptive gym class once a week for people with disabilities to be able to have a workout and it is lovely to meet people with similar disabilities as it becomes a social group too. It is great to be able to meet up with a group of friends every week and do some great exercises with amazing Trainers, who are brilliant at keeping us working hard and getting fit!  I thoroughly enjoy the sessions and look forward to it every week. I look forward to work with the trainers and everyone at the class, I always find it hard to make friends so this has given me lots of opportunity to meet lots of people with similar disabilities as me. Its nice as we always work in pairs so this gives me a chance to get to know everyone. Now we have got to know each other we are always in contact with...

New Wheelchair

New Wheelchair! Hello to my lovely readers, hope you are well.  A few weeks ago, I got my new wheelchair! My old one was 5 years old, wasn't working and just very worn and loved, I was using my other wheelchair for everyday use which it was only meant to be for back up so this wasn't the best idea for my posture and it wasn't fitted to suit my needs. So we started to look around for a new one.  I had my appointment in December to get fitted for the new chair and it was the best service I've ever had. We were so pleased with the level of detail that went into that appointment and how much care was given to me making sure I was happy with my choice for my new wheelchair. I was so excited thinking lets get Christmas out of the way then I'll have my new chair.     5 months later, after lots of waiting and chasing phone calls, as a few parts was ordered from different countries, I finally received my wheelchair, this made me feel really happy and much more ind...

A Holiday On Wheels To Center Parcs

A Holiday On Wheels To Center Parcs  Hello to my lovely readers, hope you are well. I have recently been to Center Parcs in Eleveden Forest and I just thought I'd do a blog on my week away.  Me and my boyfriend Victor, decided to book another week in Center Parcs this year, we loved it so much last year so we decided to go again. We went on bank holiday, in which we didn't realise this until a few weeks before, it was slightly busy but still lovely, it quietened down after the long weekend.  The week was amazing, we were more aware of what went well and what didn't from the first time around,  so it was easier to plan our week and book our activities. We made sure we spread our activities out so we had something to do each day and this worked as it gave us time to get to all of our activities as well as time to relax. We did lots of exciting activities however trying to think of things to book is quite challenging as we were quite limited as to what we...
