My Time With Whizz-Kidz

My Time With Whizz-Kidz Hi, my lovely  readers, hope you are well.   After my 26th birthday, I moved on from a wonderful charity that  supports children and young people called  Whizz-Kidz, as  I  have grown out of their  age bracket.  However I couldn’t finish this amazing charity without writing a blog about how great my experience has been over the years and talk about the fantastic support I have been given over the years from the start, whether this is support with equipment or help with work placements.   I have absolutely loved working the staff and meeting lots of people with similar disabilities as me, as well as learning about different disabilities along the way.  When I think back on what I have achieved during my time at Whizz-Kidz, I think of the successful work placements which I did face-to-face or online via Zoom. Especially when we were in lockdown, Whizz-Kidz kept me very b...

A Year Of Adaptive CrossFit

Image
A Year Of Adaptive CrossFit  Hi my lovely readers, I hope you are well.  I know I have done a blog like this before, but I realised that I have been attending my adaptive CrossFit class for a year now, so I thought about doing a blog post about how I am finding it.    I can't  believe it has been a year already, it has a gone so quickly, I have the best time in the sessions and achieved so much in a short space of time, it has been incredible.     Over the past year, I have loved going to the adapted classes, I have enjoyed meeting new people with a wide range of disabilities that have become very good friends. Also I have been able to become stronger in my workouts and been able to achieve things that I felt that it wouldn't have been possible, for example, trying out my friends Rollator. This was one my many highlights of the year ! All of the sessions has made me feel stron...

Growing Up With Cerebral Palsy

Growing Up With Cerebral Palsy  Hey my lovely readers, I hope you are well. I thought this would be slightly different to my normal style of writing, I asked on a Cerebral Palsy page on social media,  about any particular issues or interests that people had and I would turn some of the ideas into a blog. I got some great responses and 'Growing up with Cerebral Palsy' was the most popular idea and I was so invested in this topic as I have so many great memories and examples when I saw this suggestion.  Growing up with Cerebral Palsy was no different from any other childhood, but I did find it difficult to understand why I couldn't do things that other children was doing, but my parents and my primary school made sure I felt apart of what everyone else was doing, even if it was adapted slig...

Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month- 31 things I love about my CP

Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month-31 things I love about my CP! Hey my lovely readers, hope you are well As March is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month I thought I'd write 31 things I love about having Cerebral Palsy and how it defines me as the person I am today. Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month was created to spread more knowledge about the type of disability it is and allow people to learn about the condition. There is approximately 17 million people worldwide living with a form of Cerebral Palsy and each of them will be affected by CP in their own, unique way. Cerebral Palsy affects each person in a different way, each person will have limitations on what they can and can't do and will have their own way of figuring out daily tasks. Life can be challenging with Cerebral Palsy but we find our own paths through life and  achieve our best everyday. 31 things I love about having...

Hello 2023!

Hello 2023! Hey my lovely readers, Happy New Year! I hope you all had a  great Christmas and an amazing start to 2023.  I hope you are all ready for a fresh start and thought of all your goals for this year. It is good to make goals as it gives you a good outlook for the year ahead. Goals can be big or small, its up to you what your goals are but it is good to have things to work towards throughout the year. What things do you want to achieve this year? Is there anything you want to improve on from last year? I like asking myself these questions when I am writing goals, because this helps me to write worthy goals for me to work on in the year to come. Theres no point of having a goal without knowing what I would like to work towards and aim for. 2022 was a great year,  I have amazing memories and I have learnt so much in a year. If you want to read more about  2022, go back to my previous blog where I review the year. Let's start ...

World Cerebral Palsy Day- 6th October!

Image
Hey my lovely readers, hope you are well. On the 6th October, it is World Cerebral Palsy Day, the day is to celebrate people who has Cerebral Palsy and try to help the world be a more diverse and accessible place to live in.  I think World Cerebral Palsy Day is a great way for people to learn and understand Cerebral Palsy as it is spreading awareness and positivity. Also it can connect more people with Cerebral Palsy together and this is an amazing opportunity to share their stories about Cerebral Palsy.   I love having Cerebral Palsy as its apart of me and I know I sometimes think about the 'what ifs', but I believe my Cerebral Palsy has helped me  make the decisions that I have made me who I am today. I have achieved so much more than I was expected to and I am proud that I can be quite independent despite my disability. My Cerebral Palsy is a part of me but it doesn't define who I am or what I d...
